I was browsing through Cabin Porn today and saw that they posted a picture from Handmade Houses: A Guide to the Woodbutcher's Art, which is one of my absolute favorite books.
My dad has owned both Handmade Houses and Woodstock Handmade Houses for a long time now and they are some of his favorite books, as well. I loved to read them when I was a kid – I remember flipping through them for hours. This probably influenced my current affinity for Tiny Houses and yurts, and my love of handmade things.
Just this past year I was reading some interiors blogs and I realized how famous these two books are. I feel lucky to have them, especially since they're out of print now and very hard to find.
I would also like to apologize for the long blogging absence; I've got a lot of personal upheaval going on in my life right now and I want to wait until things settle down before I start doing some real blogging again. Also, I'm hoping to head in a different direction in re the blog (just a wee bit, nothing major) and I think taking some time to think things over would be wise.
1st 6 images are from Woodstock Handmade Houses; last 8 are from Handmade Houses: A Guide to the Woodbutcher's Art.

WOW I can't even tell you how long I spent breathing differently over this amazing post. I thought I might pick a couple of favourite parts but I had a minor nervous breakdown because I just couldn't process that... i.e. I love everything. i.e. I want to live in these houses.
Good luck with the whole 'personal upheaval' thing and different blog direction! I can't wait to see what you do :)
Oh gosh thanks so much!!!
